Shore Tackle Update 11/22/09
With water temperatures in the low to mid 50's, the larger rockfish have been presenting themselves in the Solomon's Island Area and are now being caught around the Mid-Bay area around Bloody Point. Most of the guys are now hitting the fish hard trolling the channels edges in and around 30-40 feet of water. Bucktail/Parachute tandems are producing well along with different sizes of umbrella rigs catching many fish as well. Rockfish in the upper 30 inch range and lower 40's have been reported being caught on the troll.
The lower Western Shore has been seing larger fish as well chasing the large bunker that are making their way up the Bay, with good reports out of Deale and Breezy Point
Light Tackle seems to be producing well at the same time, targeting the scattered birds and schools of fish in the area. With larger seagulls in the area many bigger fish have been caught jigging as well, including a 51 inch fish being caught last this past week on a jig.
