Shore Tackle Update 5/10/10
Folks are finding large fish coming out the rivers in the Mid Bay - Patapsco, Severn, South, Chester. We had three reports last week of fish in the 50 pound range. Finding the fish is getting a little tougher. The quantities were down a bit last week - think quality over quantity.
In general, the fish have been deeper in mornings and higher in the water in the afternoons. Shift the spread throughout the day - a few more deeper lures off the back in the mornings and more lighter tandem rigs off the planers in the afternoons .
We are seeing more fish toward the center of the channels as the water warms. You may want to focus more on the 50-80 foot depth areas of water - and run your baits 10 foot to 35 foot deep.
Early morning and later evenings, as expected, have been the most active periods.
