Shore Tackle Update 5/23/2010

Folks are still catching larger Rockfish in the 30"-36" range trolling the larger tandems and parachutes in the Middle and Upper Bay, however the rate of big hits is slowing down.  We're finding a lot more smaller fish mixed in.   As a result, the captains are starting to switch over now to the lighter smaller trolling rigs - lighter parachutes, bucktails or Tsunamis to name a few.   We're seeing more activity around the Hill and the bridges.  Working the channel edges has been productive as well.

The biatfish have been plentiful - loads of Bunker and some Rainbait as well.  Water temps have been around 63-65 degrees.  We can start to look for Spot once the water temp hits around 70-72.  So a couple more degress before the live lining kicks in.

Can't forget to add that folks have actually been doing pretty well dunking blood worms right in the Narrows - right outside the shop.  Must be the Shore Tackle aura.

A little further south around Solomons we're starting to get reports of Croaker and some Trout in the 12"-14" range.  Summer's on it's way.
